Pleural
Mesothelioma
Pleural
mesothelioma is a very rare
and deadly form of cancer occurring
in the mesothelium. Most of
the pleural mesothelioma diagnoses
are the result of asbestos exposure.
Every year in the U.S. alone
there are 2,500 new pleural
mesothelioma cases diagnosed.
Many asbestos workers were exposed
to the deadly carcinogen decades
ago but are now just suffering
visible symptoms of pleural
mesothelioma.
The
majority of pleural mesothelioma
patients live for much under
a year because by the time the
pleural mesothelioma has been
diagnosed it has advanced to
late stages. Pleural mesothelioma
lawsuits are underway as former
asbestos workers are trying
to receive some compensation
for the deadly disease suffered
while at job sites decades ago.
There has not yet been a cure
to treating pleural mesothelioma,
however new drug combinations
are now able to extend pleural
mesothelioma lives.
